[Bug 585226] [NEW] thinkpad x60s backlight does not come on after suspend/resume

Public bug reported:

I'm on a thinkpad x60s, running a 32-bit Lucid 2.6.32-22-generic kernel.
This machine has Intel 945GM graphics.

Intermittently, after resume, the backlight doesn't turn on. Maybe 10%
of the time? Everything else is functional -- if I squint carefully I
can use the computer, it's just not really usable. Though it happens
only intermittently, once it's happened I can't figure out how to get
the backlight back again -- doing a second suspend/resume cycle, for
instance, doesn't help. Instead I'm forced to reboot -- very
frustrating.

I marked this as a regression, but sadly I must admit I can't *quite* be
sure. I had rock-solid suspend/resume in Karmic, but unfortunately I had
to swap out my machine at the same time I upgraded -- so while this is
*supposedly* the exact same hardware (and suspend/resume has
traditionally been very reliable on thinkpads with intel graphics), in
theory it might not be a regression.
