And throwing this out there -- I suspend by hitting Fn-F4, because I
find automatic suspend on lid close annoying. A precondition to
triggering this bug *might* be that I hit suspend, and then close the
lid (turning off the backlight) while it's in the middle of the suspend
process.

Or it might not.
