Sorry for my delay, it did take me a while to get this updated and
tested.  I am now fine with hibernation, but standby never seems to
work.  But saying that, it could be a hardware issue.  I had placed the
original build of MS product that came with it originally and it has the
same issue.  I thought it might be the hard drive so bought a new one
and installed the 10.04 version and still standby problems.  I am just
using hibernation more often, but with 4GB of RAM takes quite a while to
come back up.
