[Bug 670141] Re: [regression] system does not boot into graphical screen - console remains until I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete

I just rebooted the machine: there's no graphical bootup screen at all. The screen remains blank/black until I see:

I waited 10 minutes - no effect.
Then I tried to switch console (Ctrl+Alt+F1..12) - screen remained blank. After another ten minutes of waiting the graphical login manager (gdm) appeared.

The  log read:
