Hello -- hope I can find a bit of help... or at least a confirmation of
my own suspicions. I am not a techie (as you'll probably be able to
tell from my questions below), but I've become a huge Ubuntu
fan/supporter/evangelist over the past year, and I've finally run into
my first real problem.
I'm currently running 10.04 with Linux kernel 2.6.32-24 on an ASUS EEE
PC 1000HA netbook (and loving it!)
Every night before shutting down, I run update manager and install the
updates for the day and last night was no different. When I booted up
this morning, everything seemed fine except for the fact that my netbook
could not connect to my wireless internet connection. It could see the
router, and it tried to connect, but never did. Reboot. Retry. Same
deal -- couldn't connect.
Remembering that I had noticed that last night's update was to the Linux
header(s), bringing them to 2.6.32-25, I rebooted and selected the
previous system version (2.6.32-24). Everything went fine, and I'm now
able to connect to the internet.
Is there a problem with the latest build that would explain my problem?
And, if a fix is generated, will I be able to access it from my current
system (or will I need to update from 32-25)?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this for me!
