I have compiled and installed 2.6.36-rc6 which contains the fix i
mentioned above.

I confirm that this commit fixes the problem for me:

Any thoughts on getting this fix into the 2.6.35.X ubuntu kernel before
maverick is released? I can see a lot of unhappy users with broken
networks.
