Affects me too. For our Googling community trying to find out why
streaming is so bad, it took a while for me to find this one. I had
problems with Flash on Ubuntu 10.04: erratic playing of live streaming
video (e.g. Justin.tv, livestation, freetv, delicast, etc). Sometimes
video even stops, and occasionally, wireless was not connected anymore
to my router. I did not have these problem on another computer with a
wired connection (and same Ubuntu version). This got me finally on track
and lead to this bug report.

This is how I fixed it:
1) edit the file /etc/network/interfaces (you need root access, e.g. open a terminal and enter "sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces")
2) add the following lines to this file (in this case I use WPA encryption):
  auto eth1
  iface eth1 inet dhcp
      wpa-ssid YOUR_NETWORK_NAME
      wpa-passphrase YOUR_NETWORK_KEY
3) prevent network manager from starting up by un-checking it from System > Preferences > Startup Applications.
4) reboot your system

No erratic networking (and flash) for me anymore.
