weird, in 10.04 (64 with amd chip and nvidia chipset) it worked just
fine.  then i took my laptop apart, put it back together, and then from
then on i had to hit the wireless button when i started up.  i'd hit it
and a few seconds later my wireless would come on.  this was still with
10.04.

now, i just formatted everything and installed 10.10 :-).  totally fresh
install.  i have no wireless.  i hit this button, whatever i do, doesn't
seem to work.
