[Bug 661014] [NEW] mouse wont work on login

Public bug reported:

mouse stopped working on kernel upgrade when using 10.04. This problem
persists in 10.10. I am able to move the mouse when login in a bit but
freezes when its moved. The pointer is present and the keyboard
periodically freezes.  same thing happens on login i can move the mouse
for a second then freezes.
