4) What happend instead: this and another bug (will file after this is
done)

Reproduction:

Clean live USB install with persistent storage (3GB).
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update

up till then no problems

sudo apt-get upgrade

After which I get the bug notifications.

Sorry for not being able to provide more information, I am not what you
call quite at home with Linux. Just trying to get the FGLRX driver
installed by following a plethora of how-to's and alternations and
combinations. All of which result in one or more bugs, which I will
report from here on in the hope that it helps.
