Over @ Fedora/RedHat
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=512958) they have a
workaround that works for me.

Put this

echo 1 > /proc/acpi/video/C088/DOS
echo 0 > /proc/acpi/video/C088/DOS

in a startup script and all seems to work all rightie!
