Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image

On lucid there was no problem at all.

On maverick X freezes sometimes on startup, and most of the times at
suspend to ram with a dell e4300 laptop. (intel GM45 chip)

However the freeze can be reproduced doing a suspend to ram while
running glxgears.

The displays switches back to character mode, and than ... computer is
locked (caps lock LED does not change when caps lock is pressed for
instance, no mouse visible, no keyboard). Network is already shut down,
so no further diagnosis is possible.

Cannot reproduce freezes when disabling 3D acceleration

I tried the mainline drm-intel-next kernel linux-
image-2.6.36-997-generic_2.6.36-997.201010211126.

This one works perfectly!
