I tried this after rebooting, and I get the kernel crash on first use of
the command:

$ sudo lshw
Killeduffer devices  

This error can be recreated at will...


vmc at vmc-desktop:~$ uname -a
Linux vmc-desktop 2.6.35-19-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Sun Aug 29 06:34:38 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
