[Bug 613214] Re: Blank DVD does not get detected / cannot burn

I do have the same problem on a dell inspiron 5150. Blank DVD causes
some activity in the drive, but no errors are being reported. In order
to analyse the problem I installed qpxtool. When the blank disc is
inserted, qpxtool does not detect the presence of the media. Media = TDK
DVD+R 1-16x 4.7 GB Data/Video.
