[Bug 630996] [NEW] Ubuntu : 10.4 | Failure in shuting down and mounting the filesystem

Public bug reported:

Software release 10.4 
System doesn't shuts down or restarts, and just returns to log in screen of ubuntu.
Every time this happens it also observed that File system is not mounted properly and could access the drive [any of local NTFS drive are mounted].
Only possible solution was to remove the power plug.
In a week of limited usage, defect could be reproduce twice.
