[Bug 631358] [NEW] CPU fans on Power G5 are on, up to the system halt

I upgraded Ubuntu from 10.04 to 10.10 (beta). Power G5. When the system
boots, the CPU fans are turned on (with jet-like sound) and stay on for
a couple of minutes - then, the whole system halts (hardware protection
for overheating)
