i no longer have the pc that was giving me problems but i can tell you
this.  As of a few weeks ago the suspend problem had not gone away with any
updates.  also I started having this problem where the nvidia driver would
fail to load and ubuntu would start in low graphics mode.  it started out as
happening once in a while and got worse to where it happened every single
time and eventually I stopped using ubuntu altogether.
