I have tried the latest kernel
2.6.35-22-generic

I have also noticed an interesting fault.
If I run "top -d1", the list of processes is supposed to be updated periodically about once a second.
This is not happening. Some times is it taking 3 or 4 seconds to update.

Also, when the mouse freezes in position, pressing a key gets it moving
again.

So, it looks to me that keyboard input seems to release it from its
halted state.
