I just downloaded the beta of Ubuntu on 9/24/2010 Late in the evening US
Pacific time.  This beta release has this "vanished mouse" in the
desktop i386 ISO.

lspci -nn |grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device [8086:3582] (rev 02)

Since this bug was marked fixed nearly a week ago I thought I'd indicate
that the ISO being distributed wasn't fixed as it operated in Live CD
and in "Installer Mode".
