So we actually have a Dell Studio 1536 in the certification lab.
However, it's not exhibiting these issues with the latest 2.6.35-22.33
Maverick kernel.  I've attached the corresponding dmidecode, lspci, and
dmesg from this system in the lab for comparison.  What's stumping me is
that Lisa's Dell Studio 1536 and the Dell Studio 1536 in the lab have
identical USB controllers based on a comparison of the lspci output from
the two machines.
