Recompile of kernel

Hi,
I tried to recompile the kernel 2.6.11-1-686 (2.6.11-0.2) with 
iNotify-v0.22 which crash on my laptop with KDE.
I was able to do it but have a problem of name. The kernel package is:
   2.6.11-1-686 (2.6.11-0.3.jec1)
but I would like it to be:
   2.6.11-2-686 (2.6.11-0.3.jec1)
So I can install it alongside of the default one, not remplace it.

How to do it?
