Hmmm, I had the laptop battery meter problem, and the latest kernel seemed to fix that problem. So I assumed that the
above patch (or whatever it is) was slipped into one of the updated kernels, so I tried hibernating--and it seemed to
work. Then I tried hibernating from within a hibernation, and it still seemed to work.
So like I said, I saw the cpu frequency message once, but it didn't reoccur, and I haven't had the same problem w/ the
whole system slowing and being jerky.
I'll definitely post here if something similar resurfaces, but for now, it appears to be gone.
(and just to clarify, I'm pretty sure the hibernation problem that I started this report with was a bug. I tried the whole
hibernation bit on two seperate installs, and had the same problems both times)
