Same problem. A 'fresh' install on an amd64 machine running
2.6.8.1-5-amd64-k8-smp produces the error on both a RH7.3 machine (2.4.27) and a
Hoary machine (both plain i386). Reverting to 2.6.8.1-4-amd64-k8-smp on the
Warty NFS server makes things work again. Also with:
ii nfs-common 1.0.6-3ubuntu1 NFS support files common to client and serve
ii nfs-kernel-ser 1.0.6-3ubuntu1 Kernel NFS server support
