I too have an Audigy 2 card which works fine with Warty, but with the live CD of
Hoary I get no sound. My experiences are the exact same as the reporter; there
are no error messages when I try to play music or video, but I don't get any
sound. The mixer settings are the same as those in Warty. My lspci output is the
following (this is from Warty, but that shouldn't matter):

The only similarity between the reporter's hardware and mine is the soundcard
(Audigy 2, revision 4) and the NIC. Let me know if I should provide some more
