Linus' official kernel tree now supports sleep for iBook G4s as well as the Powerbooks. These are meant to work 
well, and are in the Rawhide kernel tree. David Woodhouse has been building FC3 kernels with the sleep patches 
included. You can use his kernels by adding the following to your /etc/yum.conf:

[dwmw2-kernels]
name=Fedora kernels for sleep
baseurl=ftp://ftp.linux.org.uk/pub/people/dwmw2/fc3-kernel-ppc/
