Tim,
The patch is for the netbook-lpia branch of the Hardy kernel.
As you know the OEM team has contracts to deliver Ubuntu 8.04 on a
number of hardware platforms. One of these platforms is Intel's
'Menlow' platform, which includes the 'Poulsbo' companion chip. The
Poulsbo has an onboard graphics engine which (unfortunately) requires
a custom drm module (drm_psb). Intel is still actively developing the
driver for this chip, so the OEM team needs to integrate new versions
of the driver as they become available.
