I suspect you have (as I did) an out of date tag in your local repo.
Tags do not normally get updated, but due to a major revert this one
did.  This should sort out your tag:

git fetch origin refs/tags/Ubuntu-2.6.31-22.61:refs/tags/Ubuntu-2.6.31-22.61

After this it should point to:

    commit f43d8d9bc41b21d7c78dc05bb6ea6a4c88924fec
    Author: Stefan Bader <stefan.bader at canonical.com>
    Date:   Tue Jul 20 18:02:38 2010 +0200
