It's been requested that we enable the intel_idle driver. This allows
Intel hardware to be more robust against ACPI BIOS bugs and shorcomings
of the ACPI implementation itself. We actually already have this driver
enabled as a module. However, a recent upstream commit disables module
support as it can lose an init race with ACPI rendering the driver
useless.
The following set of patches cherry-picks the upstream commit to disable
module support and then updates our Ubuntu configs to build in the
intel_idle driver. I'm proposing this for Maverick inclusion.
Thanks,
Leann
