[OT?] is there no package containing the raw "vmlinux" kernel image?

ok, that's fine but, as i'm still fairly new to ubuntu, can you
point me at the recipe for building my own vmlinux image corresponding
to my running kernel? i need one in order to play with debugging the
kernel with gdb and, for that, one needs an actual vmlinux file that
corresponds *exactly* to the running kernel (and configured with
PROC_KCORE and DEBUG_INFO, if i recall correctly).
i'm sure it's easy, i just don't know the recipe. a simple pointer
to the web page will do fine. thanks.
