Hi,

For Eee PC, there is currently two drivers, eeepc-laptop, that works
with old models (< 1000) and eeepc-wmi for newer models. eeepc-laptop
can be loaded on newer models with acpi_osi=Linux, but this is *bad*
(see http://dev.iksaif.net/projects/acpi4asus/wiki/Eeepc-wmi ,
http://xf.iksaif.net/blog/index.php?post/2010/11/28/eeepc-wmi-s-back-in-the-game
).

Thanks to a generous donator, I was able to do a lot of work on
eeepc-wmi last month, and all these patchs are now in linux-next, and
will be merged in 2.6.39.

If I'm right, Natty will use 2.6.38. And 2.6.38 have a really
minimalist eeepc-wmi that doesn't provides all needed features, and
doesn't even work on some models (1000H for example). And currently
users can either boot with acpi_osi=Linux and load eeepc-laptop, wich
may lead to strange behavior or load an unfinished eeepc-wmi (that
again, will not work on some models).

Do you think we could backport these patchs to Natty's kernel ? If
yes, I can send a series to this ml (or you can pull them from
linux-next).

Thanks,
