The best way to follow the kernel is in the various git repositories.
'git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-maverick.git master-next'
represents the next kernel upload.
'git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-maverick-meta.git master' is the
current meta package and ABI.
