Hi Moustafa,

while looking into the options for a backport, the current upstream driver
showed rather serious stability issues[1]. So I would defer any backporting
activities until the upstream driver looks to be ready for a stable release.
It does not make much sense to me to backport a driver knowing that people will
run into problems.
