Fix for #588194 (dell vostro v13 random poweroffs)

The patch attached here: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15416
(so, https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=41862) fixes both
touchpad (is recognized) and random poweroffs.
It needs to be backported to lucid and maverick as well.
