So this fixes and issue caused by a patch fixing an issue caused by a patch that
got applied to 3.16-rc1 and not backported as stable to 3.15. Are there plans
(or is there danger of that happening?). Because in that case you should make
sure the complete series happens there...

Also while following around the sequence, I noticed that there was a generic
part related to the initial patch:

PS: For the patch itself with the public bug reference the patch looks ok. Given
