Well tested commits, one "GPU hang on resume" bugfix backport, another
one fixing a cherry-pick fail from the last pull.

I used the same bug for both, though the GPU hang bug is also on
Utopic.. I'll backport another version for it once the trusty churn has
settled a bit.. it's not the only commit missing.
