== SRU Justification ==

This bug has already been fixed in Wily and Xenial by reverting commit 3822b5c2fc.
Commit 3822b5c2fc was introduced in mainline version v4.4-rc6.  

This bug may be fixed in mainline commit 1b92ee3d0, which is in version v4.5-rc6.  
However, it is best to get all Ubuntu releases matching first, and deal with that 
commit if it comes down from upstream.  Commit 1b92ee3d0 was not cc'd to stable, but
it may come down via one of David Millers patch sets.

A test kernel was built with a revert of this commit and tested by myself.
I can confirm the test kernel resolved the bug.
