== SRU Justification ==
Mailine commit 129766708 introduced this bug in upstream v4.8-rc8.  This
bug is now in Yakkety and Zesty.  This bug is preventing various system models
from booting with any kernel newer than 4.8-rc8 including Yakkety, Zesty and
upstream kernels.

This patch has been tested and confirmed to allow the affected systems to boot.
This patch is not in mainline or linux-next as of yet, so it has been marked
as SAUCE.  It has been cc'd to stable, so it should make it's way into all
supported stable kernels.

A test kernel was built with this patch and tested by the original bug reporter.
The bug reporter states the test kernel resolved the bug.
