Thanks a lot Khalid and Kleber! As per Kleber's question: the patch
does work without the counter-part in mdadm
Kleber, but it'll show a different message than intended in the "mdadm
--detail" command. The reason of my
request is the difficult backport due to old version of mdadm in Xenial.
If it's possible to carry the revert in Xenial/HWE for now, that would be great.

Then we could discuss with Foundations about alternatives in the mdadm
realm, like updating the package in
Xenial or backport more patches to bring the code needed by my patch.
