BugLink: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2073603
SRU Justification:
[Impact]
We applied c0e0f139354c "drm: Make drivers depends on DRM_DW_HDMI" as
part of upstream stable update v6.9.4 but accidentally did not apply the
revert commit that was also included in the same patchset. This is
caused by a shortcoming in our tooling that we will address. The patch
was reverted upstream because the changes introduced are considered very
user-unfriendly. In our case, the config changes also broke HDMI output
for one of our supported RISC-V SoCs, potentially due to the helper code
not being selected.
[Fix]
Revert the patch to match upstream and adjust the Ubuntu annotations.
[Test Plan]
Compile tested only.
[Where problems could occur]
Since only configs are affected, an issue would probably manifest at
build time of the kernel.
