Hi,

Can this series please be reviewed?  I see a bunch of other traffic on 
newer material and this is being ignored.

I realize the moderation thing in my first attempt of submitting it 
caused things to go wonky [1].

Sorry about that - I had no idea I was moderated, I thought I was 
silently dropped as spam because I never got a response.

Anyway - the two patches are [2] and [3].  At the risk of confusing 
things further I am happy to send again if that's what it comes down to.
