Ubuntu (kubuntu) | kcontrol

Summary: Administration mode in kcontrol not working
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Keywords: kubuntu
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: kcontrol
        AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: emrys at aithne.net
         QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

When I try to open administration mode in kcontrol, I just get thrown back
(correct password) resulting in the imposibility to edit the options there with
the control panel.
So, as a result, control panel is unusable in what requires Admin privileges.

If I reinstall the kcontrol package, it works ok until next reboot.

Happens in i386 and AMD64.
