I mean it stops, with the cursor blinking, it doesn't move, it doesn't progress.

Disabling this service and the LVM service allows progress to continue normally.

I have no errors with regard to memory - and all other linux distros I have
tested on this system have ran flawlessly.

There are others who have experienced similar issues on the forum.
