I am another one with the Admin problem in Kubuntu. But it is not restricted to Kubuntu - there are threads 
in the Kanotix forum showing that the same problem happens with Kanotix 2005-02 (which also uses KDE 3.4),

So those who give up on Kubuntu because of this bug may move elsewhere and find the same problem, especially 
if they are looking for a distro with KDE 3.4.
