No, I tried it when it was mentioned on the users mail list but it did not solve the problem - in fact it
made it made worse. Now when I click on Admin I get a red-bordered box with the word Loading in the middle,
but nothing further happens - it freezes in that state and I don't get the box for the password or anything
else. I went through the reinstall again but got the same result. I'm new to Linux - is the order of your
commands correct? 'sudo apt-get --reinstall install kcontrol' is what you have given but I'm now wondering
whether the commands given in the message on kubuntu-users was exactly the same order. I'll have to try and
find it again in case it was different (I've got a feeling the reinstall and install might have been given
the other way around).
