Ubuntu (kubuntu) | hal

Summary: hal doesn't see partitions on USB-Sticks
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Keywords: kubuntu
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: hal
        AssignedTo: martin.pitt at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: kl at 3dots.de
         QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

most interesting line from dmesg:
[4312105.052000] /dev/scsi/host4/bus0/target0/lun0: p1

..so the partition is there (and yes, /dev/sda1 exists and can be mounted). But hal doesn't see them and
gnome-volume-manager tries to mount /dev/sda.
