Summary: Can't type accents on xterm or konsole
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: UNKNOWN
        AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: fleona at cantv.net
         QAContact: kubuntu-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

(K)ubuntu only comes with UTF8 as a locale. On my spanish keyboard, i can't type
accents anywhere with UTF8, so i had to do:

dpkg-reconfigure locales

and turn on the iso 8859-1 locales for es_VE and en_US.

Having done that, i can type accents (ñáéíóú...) on a linux tty console, everywhere on
kde and even in openoffice. But i can't get konsole or xterm to work.

I have changed the konsole's encoding to iso 8859-1, cp1252, utf8, utf16, and lots
others. I have changed the "keyboard" to linux console, xfree 4.x, 3.x... I even tried
changing the default font.

Nothing works. Can someone help me? On other distros like arch and slackware, this
works.
