There's 3 possibilities to reach "Trash" in an easy way: 

1) panel applet
2) desktop icon
3) click on "System" icon --> Trash 

I think this is too much. I would remove 1) and 3) (if it is easy to remvove
"Trash" from the "System" icon menu).
Imho a user should have not too many options to achive one task - this just
confuses.
