I've only noticed this problem with the PowerPC edition, both in Hoary and Breezy. 
It's not a big problem i Gwenview since you always can choose anything but Fast smoothing. The bigger 
problem is with Konqueror's image viewer in which the bug also occurs, there I haven't found any way to 
change the smoothing mode.
