1. make firefox the default browser.
2. open thunderbird.
3. send mail to yourself in which the body contains some link like
www.ubuntulinux.com
4. open newly arrived mail and click the link in the mail.

expected result:
- the site should open in firefox.

actual result:
- nothing happens.

workaround:
- user has to do all sorts of geekish stuff like create user.js in the folder
~/.mozilla-thunderbird/gzufjlj8.default/
cat user.js
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.ftp","/usr/bin/firefox");
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.http","/usr/bin/firefox");
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.https","/usr/bin/firefox");


note: when i install kubuntu-desktop, i expect these things to work seamlessly.
