I talked to some people in IRC (#openoffice.org). 
 
- They tested this bug in Solaris with Gnome and Firefox, works.  
- OpenOffice is stale before closing Konq, so the bug happens right after you click on the link. 
- OO2 should not care about the browser after it dispatched the url. For them it looks like the 
url dispatch call never returns, but that would be a kde or browser issue
